About the Hallway Cafe

Since reopening in 2018, The Hallway Café has been serving made from-scratch sandwiches, pizzas, and pastries that prove quality taste can be matched with sustainable practices. At The Hallway Café, we offer the opportunity for vulnerable youth to develop hands-on skills in a teaching kitchen while providing delicious meals to City Hall visitors and catering clients.

The Hallway Café provides 17-week employment readiness training to vulnerable youth in the Edmonton area. Youth are given the chance to gain valuable skills while working in a teaching kitchen preparing fresh meals for our patrons and catering clients. These roles offer a well-rounded foundation for future careers. By engaging youth in meaningful work, the café fosters personal growth, builds confidence, and equips youth with the tools they need to succeed in a career path of their choosing.

The Hallway Café Program

Our Hallway Café program is a 17-week work-experience opportunity where students gain work experience under the direction of professional chefs. We work with vulnerable youth aged 16-24 to help them achieve educational and employment success through 5 modules: Food preparation, Line station, Customer service, Baking and Pizza.

Participants can also be connected to Cardinal Collins City Centre through The Hallway Café. This program offers a self-directed approach to earning high school credits and/or completion and is also offered at City Hall.
